When Funke Akindele’s most recent film, “Everybody Loves Jenifa,” was screened, Nigerians were ecstatic to see Jenifa back with her true love, Shege.

Everyone dressed to impress for the inaugural showing of one of the most anticipated films of the season, making the movie premiere a night of glitz and glamour.

Musicians D’banj and Lagbaja, who both starred in the film, made an appearance that was one of the evening’s highlights. The seasoned Nigerian musician Lagbaja, whose true name is Bisade Ologunde, has been mostly out of the public eye for a while.

At the after-party, when the real show started, he enthralled the crowd with his melodic voice.
