Video: Widow of Nigerian boxer who died in Ghanaian ring cries out over non-release of husband’s corpse

According to ZINGTIE, Adebusola Olanrewaju, the wife of Nigerian boxer Olanrewaju Success, who lost his life fighting in Ghana, has expressed her displeasure over the refusal to allow her husband’s body to be buried.

ZINGTIE remembered that Olanrewaju Success died on 30 March, 2025 during a boxing bout in Accra, Ghana.

Adebusola bemoaned the fact that every attempt to recover his body for burial had failed since his untimely demise.

Adebusola said she had tried to recover her husband’s body in a video that was shared on social media.

“They keep telling me that very soon his corpse will be sent back to Nigeria. Initially, they said they wanted to carry out an autopsy on this corpse. This has been done but still the corpse has not been returned,” she lamented.

She urged Nigerians who were in a similar situation to help her.

“I have not been able to do anything since he died. My parents have been responsible for the upkeep of my two children and I. I need to work to take care of my children but can’t do that with his corpse still in the morgue waiting to be buried,” she said.
