The results of the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting were celebrated on Thursday by members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Integrity Group, also referred to as the G-5.
The results of the party’s NEC meeting in Abuja were celebrated by Ifeanyi Uguwanyi of Enugu State, former governor Samuel Ortom, governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
The majority of the party’s heavyweights attended the PDP’s 98 NEC meeting on Thursday at the organization’s national headquarters in Abuja.
Umar Iliya Damagum, the party’s acting national chairman, has received a vote of confidence from the PDP’s National Working Committee (NWC).
Debo Ologunagba, the party’s national publicity secretary, revealed this via a statement.
Iyorchia Ayu served as the PDP’s acting national chairman until Damagum’s ascending, at which point he was removed in the run-up to the 2023 presidential election.
Damagum is largely believed to support Wike’s side, which is why the G-5 governors are celebrating.
