President Isaac Herzog asserts that Israel has a full right to self-defence and that its actions are compliant with international law.
He made this statement at the President’s Residence during a memorial service for IDF soldiers who died fighting Hamas in Gaza.
“Israel has the full right to self-defense. Everyone with sense can see that Israel is acting in accordance with international law”, Herzog said.
President Isaac Herzog claimed that the International Court of Justice’s genocide lawsuit against Israel was similar to a “blood libel,” according to Times Of Israel.
He underlined the legitimacy of Israel’s operations, presenting it as a struggle to free the hostages that Hamas is holding and to restore security for Israeli civilians in the face of Hamas’ violent threats and acts.
He continued by saying that Israel deeply regrets the suffering endured by innocent Palestinians in the area and is committed to securing the continuous flow of humanitarian aid into Gaza.
