In connection with the murder of a pastor, villagers in Ogbomoso community, Oyo State, on Monday detained three suspects and turned them over to the police.

It was learned that the Fulani herders in Ogbomoso had murdered the preacher, known as Evangelist Adegboyega.

According to OntimeNews, the three suspects caused a stir among Nigerians when they admitted to their crimes and claimed that the pastor they “killed is already in heaven,” which should free them.

According to reports, the preacher was slain near the Ogbomoso-Iseyin route in the Gege area.

When he allegedly challenged the ranchers to let their cattle graze his fields after they broke into his property, he was slain.

The three suspects were reportedly first captured by locals and taken to the palace of Soun of Ogbomosho, Oba Afolabi Ghandi Olaoye, before being turned up to the police, according to Daily Post reports.

The deceased person’s body was placed in a private mortuary.

In the meantime, two traditional rulers in Ekiti State met a tragic end when they were ambushed by gunmen who may have been herdsmen as they were leaving a meeting.

According to reports, the incident that caused confusion in their communities occurred in the state’s Ajoni Local Government Area, specifically between Oke-Ako and Ipao-Ekiti.

Elesun of Esun Ekiti in Ajoni, Ikole Local Government Area in Ekiti State, and Onimojo of Imojo Ekiti in Oye Local Government Area are reported to have had their bodies carried into a nearby bush by the herders.

They claimed that after being halted by the armed herders, who opened fire on them, they took their things.
