Human rights activist Aisha Yesufu has alleged that some religious leaders in Nigeria are on the payroll of politicians.

Yesufu made the allegation in a post shared on her verified X handle on Monday.

She was reacting to a prayer session led by the Minister of Works, Dave Umahi.

“Nigerians want to pray their way to good governance! The same prayers that the politicians giving you bad governance are out-praying you on!

“They even have your religious rulers on their payroll. You bring sadaqah and tithes in thousands they bring theirs in billions,” she said.
