President Tinubu has been warned by The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele not to enact the 5% fuel tax that his administration is demanding.

Primate Ayodele said in a statement signed by his media assistant, Osho Oluwatosin, that enforcing it would impact Tinubu’s chances of winning a second term.

According to the prophet, the program will be misunderstood and, if caution is not used, will be viewed as the elimination of subsidies, which will incite unfavorable sentiment against the government.

“Tinubu should look into the five percent fuel tax well, they will misinterpret it and it will count as a minus for Tinubu’s second term ambition.”

He pointed out that some governors will oppose it because the long-term benefits will be lopsided and that the opposition will use it to campaign against him.

“They will use it to campaign against him. The policy will be one-sided in the long run and some governors will kick against it.”

In addition, he suggested that Tinubu reduce taxes policies because of the present state of the economy, stating that it is becoming excessive.

“Tinubu needs to work on the taxation of a thing, it’s becoming too much, he should not let it be like subsidy removal days.”
