Actress Bimbo Akintola has spoken out about the criticism she received during the most recent elections, saying that many Nigerians attempted to intimidate her for endorsing the current president.

Speaking on a recent edition of With Chude, she claimed that she got furious after witnessing renowned actress Joke Silva being harassed online for merely voicing her political beliefs.

As said by Bimbo: “Nigerians annoy me. Don’t bully other people. We all have the right to differ in opinion. You don’t like this man? Yes, that’s your right. You prefer someone else? God bless you. But bullying people because of their choice is wrong.”

She remembered responding to individuals who were criticizing her at the time by creating a video.

In her words : “I now did this video saying, okay, I’m going for the same person. Kill me. Feel free. Kill me. Let me see you change my mind with your bullying.”

Nigerians should realize that conflicts are common and don’t have to turn violent, according to the actress.
