Dr. Herbert Wigwe, the former CEO of Access Holdings, along with his first son Chizzy and wife Doreen Chizoba, are buried in a private mausoleum at the Wigwe University that he founded in Isiokpo, Ikwerre Local Government Area, Rivers State.
Following a funeral service, the bodies were transferred from the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Isiokpo, to the private mausoleum, where they were buried on Saturday at approximately 2:45 p.m.
Tears were streaming down the face at the graveside as the bodies were lowered into the grave.
Along with his wife Doreen and son Chizzy, Wigwe died in a helicopter crash in California, close to the Nevada border in the United States.
Abimbola Ogunbanjo, the chairman of Nigerian Exchange Group Plc, also participated in the catastrophe.
The governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, has pledged the state government’s assistance to Wigwe University.
Kayode Fayemi, Peter Obi, Rotimi Amaechi, Bukola Saraki, Aliko Dangote, Sanusi Lamido, Alex Otti, Dapo Abiodun, and Babajide Sawno-Olu are among the dignitaries in attendance at the funeral service.
Among the luminaries in attendance are Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Segun Agbaje, and James Ibori, CEO of GTCO Holdings.
