Nigerian music star Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has officially surpassed 9 billion streams on Spotify across all credited works.
This achievement makes him the first African artist to reach such a milestone on the global streaming platform.
His most streamed track on Spotify is the global hit “One Dance,” a collaboration with Canadian artist Drake and British singer Kyla, which has garnered 3.7 billion streams.
The track ranks among Spotify’s top 10 most streamed songs ever and holds the Guinness World Record as the first single to cross the 1 billion stream mark on the platform.
Among his solo works, the Tems-featured “Essence” stands as Wizkid’s highest-streamed lead single, with over 303 million streams.
Meanwhile, American pop sensation Taylor Swift continues to hold the title of the most streamed artist on Spotify, with more than 1.5 billion streams.
