Worst federal gov’t ever — El-Rufa’i blasts Tinubu’s administration

Malam Nasir El-Rufai, a former governor of Kaduna State, has issued a harsh indictment of President Bola Tinubu’s administration, calling it the most intolerant and corrupt since Nigeria returned to democracy in 1999.

Speaking to reporters in Katsina, El-Rufa’i called the current Tinubu-led federal administration “the worst in Nigerian history” and charged that it uses propaganda to hide its shortcomings, particularly when it comes to dealing with the nation’s ongoing security issue.

“This is the most corrupt and most intolerant government in Nigeria,” El-Rufai declared.

“This is the most lying government that depends on false propaganda. They lied that security has improved in Nigeria.”

In Katsina, the former FCT minister visited Governor Dikko Umaru Radda to offer his condolences for his mother’s passing. He denied federal government assertions that the security situation has improved throughout the interview, claiming that violent instability still plagues several towns in Katsina, Zamfara, and Sokoto.

“In Kaduna, Dogo Gide is still around, Mallam Abba, the Boko Haram terrorist is still alive. Bello Turji is still around but every day, they announce names of people that are bandits’ leaders that they have killed and [say] security has improved,” he said.

Citing the ongoing presence and actions of infamous terrorist commanders, he cast doubt on the legitimacy of the administration.

“How many local governments are under the occupation of bandits in Katsina State? How many are occupied by bandits in Zamfara State and some parts of Sokoto State? And because you are in government you think that nothing would happen?” he asked.

Speaking about his political future, El-Rufai described the Social Democratic Party (SDP), with which he has reportedly allied himself, as an honest party that is ready to take on the incumbent All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 elections.

“I have said it before, this is the worst Federal Government in Nigerian history and all the indices have shown it,” he concluded.
