X, the social media platform owned by U.S. tech mogul Elon Musk, has reached the number one position in the News category on the U.S. App Store.
The update was shared on Friday by Tesla Owners of Silicon Valley through a brief post on its official X account.
According to the post, X also claimed the top rank among free apps overall, with the group expressing determination to keep the platform’s momentum going strong.
The rise in rankings saw X overtake long-time leaders Reddit and Substack, both of which had consistently held high positions since Musk’s acquisition of the platform.
“Top spot in the News category on the U.S. App Store and in free apps too. Reddit and Substack just got pushed down. X isn’t slowing down,” Tesla Owners of Silicon Valley wrote on X and reported to Elon Musk.
As a reminder, Musk purchased the platform formerly known as Twitter for $44 billion in October 2022, before rebranding it to X.
On Wednesday, Bloomberg, citing unnamed sources, reported that X is currently in fundraising discussions that would maintain the company’s valuation at $44 billion.
