9-year-old boy whispered 7 words to his mother who poisoned him

When the 9-year-old was admitted to the hospital, it appeared that his mother had tampered with his IV tube. The mother is charged with giving the boy f-ces poisoning through his IV drip while he is receiving treatment at The Children’s Hospital.

The child, whose name was not disclosed, had a severe fever and was not feeling well. The medical staff at the hospital also found that he was experiencing delirium in addition to a high fever.

One of the hospital nurses, Lindie, recalls a particular shift when the child was quite ill and experiencing head, stomach, and back pain. Lindie said before the court that the child asked for medication to lessen his pain.

The nurse also recalls that the child had severe behavioural problems while a patient at the hospital. Not only was he quite demanding of his mother, but he was also not above using foul language directed at the nurses.

During one of the youngster’s exchanges with his mother, the nurse overheard them talking, and the boy asked her why she was hurting him. According to the nurse, the child allegedly said something to his mother. You could have put anything into my cannula while I was unconscious.

The following day, the nurse overheard the ill child pleading with his mother to stop “doing this to me” and expressing similar feelings. What was said by the mother? “Poisoning me,” the child said to his mother, according to the nurse.

During her hospital shifts, Lindie overheard the talk and took it seriously. She emailed Child Protective Services about it. The nurse said that the child was also under a lot of stress at this time. Kristina, a fellow nurse who worked the same shift as Brown, concurred.
