Her parents gave her the initial name Rhoshandiatellyneshiaunneveshenk Koyaanisquatsiuth Williams, but after three weeks, she altered it to a name with 1,019 letters. A two-foot-long birth certificate was another result of this modification. Her unusual name garnered a lot of media interest. Although it can be difficult to pronounce and spell, Rhoshandiatellyneshiaunneveshenk is fond of using her complete name.

Jamie’s mother, Sandra wanted to set two records: one for Jamie’s unusual name and one for the Guinness World Records. With more than a thousand characters, her name broke the Guinness World Record. Jamie would have to work hard if she wanted to accept her birth name. She eventually became proficient in both spelling and pronunciation of her name via consistent practice.
