Manchester United legend Paul Scholes has identified captain Bruno Fernandes and defender Lisandro Martinez as the two players he would offload from the club’s current squad.
Scholes argued that both footballers went too far with their recent comments concerning manager Michael Carrick and the club’s leadership.
Martinez had reportedly criticised United’s management after the team suffered a Champions League defeat against Atletico Madrid.
Fernandes, on the other hand, questioned Carrick’s tactical decisions following Manchester United’s Champions League loss to Como.
During an appearance on The Good, The Bad & The Football podcast, presenter Paddy McGuinness asked Scholes how many players in the current squad he would be willing to sell.
Responding to the question, the former midfielder said: “For what Bruno Fernandes did last week, I think that was unforgivable. So Bruno’s one.
“And Martinez for what he said as well. It is not his business.”
Fernandes joined Manchester United from Sporting CP in 2020, while Martinez completed his move to Old Trafford from Ajax in 2022.
