The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has talked of his ex-wife and former queen, Naomi Silekunola’s character despite her detention.
Recall how darkness descended on Ibadan two days ago after a stampede at an event hosted by Queen Naomi
Together with media star Oriyomi Hamzat, the queen planned to provide 5,000 children with gifts of N5,000 each.
When the crowds burst down the barriers and turned unruly, the event descended into chaos.
The circumstances surrounding Queen Naomi’s arrest are unknown, however she was thereafter placed under arrest.
Ooni spoke about the situation and offered the families of the deceased his sincere condolences. He also showed solidarity with Naomi.
He spoke highly of her character and how she was fond of hosting similar occasions when she was queen.
Temilola Sobola, a blogger, posted this statement on Instagram.
It reads, “The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has expressed heartfelt condolences to the families of the children who lost their lives in a stampede during the funfair in Ibadan. He also showed solidarity with the ex-queen Naomi by saying she genuinely cared for children and organised similar events at Ile Ife when she was the queen.”
ZINGTIE recalls Queen Naomi’s spectacular departure from the Ife palace. She explained why she left the palace and gave up her role as queen on her Instagram.
She, however, fuelled speculation that the king has a dual personality. On outside, he is not who he claimed to be.
