A total of 25 Guernsey charities and non-profit organizations will receive funding from the annual Saffery Rotary Walk, which takes place on Saturday, June 7, 2025.
The challenging 39-mile (62.8 km) coastal path walk around the island has become a highly anticipated event in the local calendar.
Last year’s event supported 21 charities, and organizers are confident that this year’s walk will be just as successful.
Chairman Simon Milsted emphasized the importance of community involvement, saying, “The event brings islanders together in support of extraordinary causes.”
Milsted also highlighted the significance of sponsor support, stating, “Thanks to the immense support of our sponsors, every penny raised by walkers is available for our beneficiary charities.”
He encouraged participants to sign up, saying, “By signing up for the walk, you’re not just taking on a personal challenge but also contributing to a collective legacy that will benefit countless people across the bailiwick.”
The 25 charities set to benefit from the walk include Alderney Animal Welfare Society, Girlguiding Guernsey, Les Bourgs Hospice, and Wellbeing Animals Guernsey.
Lisa Vizia, director at Saffery Trust, praised the event, saying, “Participants will experience a truly rewarding day.” She added, “Together, we can create real change for these deserving causes.”
The Saffery Rotary Walk has become a vital fundraising event for the local community, and organizers are eager to build on last year’s success.
With the support of sponsors and participants, the event is poised to make a significant impact on the lives of those in need.
