Paul Put, the head coach of Uganda, has recognized the Nigerian Super Eagles’ strength.
The Cranes are paired alongside Tanzania, Tunisia, and Nigeria in Group C of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

In their lone encounter in the competition, which was held in 1978 and hosted by Ghana, the East Africans defeated the Super Eagles 2-1.

Put acknowledged that in order for his team to succeed, they will need to believe in themselves.

“There are no easy games in Africa. We are going to face Nigeria, the last edition’s finalists, and Tunisia, a team that consistently reaches the latter stages of this tournament,” the Belgian said after the draw ceremony in Rabat, Morocco

“Tanzania adds the derby element, which is always intense. However, we must believe in ourselves.”

Tanzania will face the Super Eagles in their last group game in Fez on Tuesday, December 30.
