After a video of the shameful behaviour went viral online, police in Texas are looking into a guy who used his three-month-old baby to push snow off a car.
During the severe winter storm that struck the region last week, the 25-year-old father from Port Arthur was spotted on January 21 using the baby as a windscreen wiper on a Hyundai Elantra, according to KFDM.
The father, wearing sneakers, a white T-shirt and dark jeans, was seen laughing while sliding the infant down the front and rear windscreen in the now-deleted TikTok video.
The event happened at the O.W. Collins Elderly Apartments during the blizzard, according to Port Arthur Police Chief Tim Duriso, as reported by 12News.
Duriso further hinted that the baby is the man’s child in a follow-up.
According to the outlet, Cory Crenshaw, a prominent Beaumont lawyer, alerted the Port Arthur Police Department and Child Protective Services to the unsettling video, and they are currently working to determine what happened.
After questioning the individual in the video, Duriso quickly discovered that he wasn’t the only one present when it occurred. His identity is still unknown.
‘He had two other females with him at the time. We suspect one of them was the mom. They checked on the baby. The baby was just fine,’ he said, adding that the child is still in the parent’s custody.
The department is presently investigating the man’s criminal history, according to Duriso. Next week, the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office is anticipated to issue an arrest warrant.
