The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has disbursed ₦140 million in loans to 1,507 students of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE). This development was confirmed by the Vice-Chancellor of FUOYE, Professor Abayomi Fasina, in a letter of appreciation to NELFUND dated January 29, 2025.

Fasina acknowledged the initiative’s profound impact on education and student empowerment, stating, “I am writing on behalf of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) to formally confirm and commend the recent disbursement of funds by Nelfund, amounting to a total of ₦140,254,500.” He noted that this substantial support was extended to 1,507 beneficiaries within the institution.

The VC expressed his deepest gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for this commendable initiative, emphasizing that “the impact of this financial support on the lives of our students cannot be underestimated.” Fasina believes that by providing these funds, the Federal Government has demonstrated a profound understanding of the importance of education in shaping Nigeria’s future.

Fasina also commended the efficient and transparent process through which the funds were disbursed, praising NELFUND’s professionalism and dedication. 

“On behalf of the entire FUOYE community, I extend our heartfelt thanks to you and your team for your unwavering support,” he added. Fasina looks forward to continuing the partnership with NELFUND to achieve greater heights in educational excellence and student empowerment.
