In recognition of the Franks’ remarkable generosity, the center’s stunning gallery atrium as well as several exhibition spaces will be named in their honor. This lasting tribute acknowledges the couple’s dedication to promoting arts education and cultural enrichment at URI.
Notably, the Franks have a history of philanthropic support for the university, having previously established the Howard and Mary E. Frank Scholarship Endowment in the College of Business and the Agnes Doody Memorial Scholarship.
“Universities have a responsibility to broaden the education of students beyond their specialized focus,” said Mary Frank. “Every student should have the opportunity to walk into the arts center and be unexpectedly transported by an experience that can ultimately alter their lives.
