Trinidadian rapper Nicki Minaj has been recognized as the greatest female rapper of all time by Billboard.
The Billboard list of the Best Female Rappers of All Time also included hip-hop legends like Missy Elliott, Lauryn Hill, and Queen Latifah.
In a surprising twist, Minaj’s contemporaries, Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion, were ranked outside the top 10.
Minaj claimed the top spot, followed by Missy Elliott at number 2, Lauryn Hill at number 3, Lil’ Kim at 4, and Queen Latifah at 5.
The top 10 was rounded out by MC Lyte, Salt-N-Pepa, Roxanne Shanté, Eve, and Foxy Brown.
Cardi B ranked at number 11, while Megan Thee Stallion secured the 15th spot.
Although widely considered the greatest female rapper of all time by many fans and music critics, Nicki Minaj has yet to win a Grammy, while her rivals, Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion, have both earned Grammy Awards in rap categories.
