Former Oserheimen Osunbor has alleged that the All Progressives Congress-led Federal Government is taking steps to weaken opposition political parties in Nigeria.

Osunbor made the claim on Friday while appearing as a guest on “Politics Today,” a programme on Channels Television.

He was reacting to what he described as the actions of the APC towards opposition parties across the country.

The Professor of Law also criticised Femi Gbajabiamila over a recent remark attributed to him.

Gbajabiamila was alleged to have advised a member of the House of Representatives, Leke Ajebade, to remain in the African Democratic Congress and destabilise it.

Expressing his views, the former governor said, “This government is doing everything within its power and even beyond its power to destroy opposition political parties.

“Independence of the legislature and independence of the judiciary no longer exist in Nigeria.

“Recently, the social media witnessed a viral video of the Chief of Staff to Mr President telling a Reps member to remain in the ADC, fight them and scatter them.”
