North Korea on Sunday criticized U.S. President Donald Trump’s recent move to relax restrictions on arms exports, calling it an action that escalates global tensions.
In a commentary published by the Korean Central News Agency, the report—without naming a specific author accused the U.S. of hypocrisy. It claimed that while Washington presents itself as a “mediator” promoting talks and diplomatic solutions, it is simultaneously supplying various forms of destructive weapons, fueling conflict and encouraging those seeking war to intensify and extend hostilities.
President Trump, who has been advocating for peace talks between Kyiv and Moscow, reportedly signed an executive order on April 9 to make it easier for U.S. weapons to be exported abroad.
