Ugochukwu Orji, an officer of the Nigeria Immigration Service who apprehended Levi Obieze, a suspected ritualist who had fled from Enugu State, is set to be recognized by the people of Isiala Ngwa in Abia State, his hometown.
Orji is also being commended for turning down a reported bribe of N10 million.
This announcement was made by Ginger Onwusibe, the National Assembly representative for Isiala Ngwa North and South constituencies.
Onwusibe, who is serving as the Co-chair of the planning committee for the upcoming Grand Civic Reception in honor of Governor Alex Otti, stated that the community had decided to celebrate Officer Orji for his remarkable bravery and commitment to ethical conduct.
The lawmaker praised Orji’s actions, stating they reflect the core values of integrity and respect that define the people of Isiala Ngwa and Abia State:
“Congratulations, our dear brother. You have made us proud and shown that Isiala Ngwa people can be trusted.
“We have resolved to honour you tomorrow alongside the Governor.
“I have sent a request for you to be released by your office to attend the event.
“We will take care of your air ticket and logistics.
“We are proud of you,” he said.
Additionally, the Alumni Association of Holy Family Secondary School, Osusu—Orji’s alma mater—also applauded his exemplary courage and integrity, which they noted reflects the values instilled by the school.
