The Delta State Police Command has arrested the Commissioner for Secondary Education, Kingsley Ashibogwu, and three other individuals in connection with the death of Unity Ekpevbughe Adeda, a Deputy Director in the ministry.

Ashibogwu was taken into custody alongside three others as the police widened their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the official’s death.

The Command’s spokesman, Bright Edafe, confirmed the development in a statement on Monday, saying five suspects are now being held in connection with the case.

As of the time of filing this report, the police had not released the identities of the three other suspects arrested alongside the commissioner.

The Command has also declared two additional individuals wanted for questioning as part of the investigation.

They are Mrs Clementine Ufuoma, Director of Basic and Secondary Education, and Clement Apia, driver to the Commissioner for Secondary Education.

“The Delta State Police Command, in continuation of the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of Mr Unity Ekpevbughe Adeda, Deputy Director in the Delta State Ministry of Secondary Education, has taken into custody the Commissioner for Secondary Education, Dr Kingsley Ashibogwu, alongside three other suspects in connection with the case.

“This brings the number of persons currently in Police custody in connection with the investigation to five,” the statement said.
