Afrobeat star Davido has taken a jab at former Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Hon. Timothy Owoeye, in response to a recent comment the politician made.

The exchange follows a visit on Tuesday by Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, to President Bola Tinubu, amid tensions surrounding local government elections in the state.

Reports indicate that Osun’s local government funds have been frozen since February 2025 due to a dispute between the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the governing Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

In a new development on Wednesday, President Tinubu received Governor Adeleke in Lagos, along with the governor’s elder brother, Dr. Adedeji Adeleke, and musician Davido.

The meeting led to speculation that Adeleke may be considering a switch to the APC.

However, Hon. Timothy Owoeye addressed the rumor during a press briefing in Osogbo on Wednesday, saying, “Adeleke family is not welcome in the APC. There is no space for PDP and Adeleke in APC.”

In response, Davido took to X (formerly Twitter) to mock Owoeye’s statement, posting in the comments: “No be this guy naked for bush?”

The post appeared to reference a viral incident from 2018, in which Owoeye was allegedly caught on video unclothed during a nighttime ritual.
