According to the ZINGTIE, there are continuous operations to drive bandits and kidnappers out of the communities that have been invaded in Kwara State’s Lafiagi and Patigi Local Government Areas.
According to reliable sources who asked to remain anonymous, a Nupe woman is in charge of the clearance operations and works with security personnel.
Remember that in recent weeks, there have been more attacks by bandits and kidnappers in a few Kwara localities, such as Ndeji, Gbugbu, Lafiagi in the Edu Local Government, and Lata Nna in the Patigi Local Government Area of the state.
The recent kidnapping of gasoline vendor Abass Daniyan and his manager Abubakar Issa in Ndeji, Edu Local Government, resulted in their release only after their captors paid a ransom of N100 million.
The well-known chemical merchant Alhaji Chemical, who is still in captivity, was the victim of another recent kidnapping in the Lafiagi neighborhood.
ZINGTIE was told by people close to the clearance operations, “it is now fire for fire as the communities declared that enough is enough.”
“The field operations led by a Nupe woman and security operatives is still ongoing.
“Anyway, progress is being made in the battle fields, in various sectors, in concerted efforts to recover our forests from the bandits who are illegal occupants terrorizing the region,” the sources disclosed.
Security agencies were not contacted on Friday on the events in Ilorin.
