Manchester United centre-back Harry Maguire has revealed that the club prevented him from leaving during the summer transfer window.

Maguire stated that although multiple teams expressed interest in signing him, the Premier League side refused to consider any potential moves.

“I am almost certain that Man United made it clear this summer that I could not leave under any circumstances,” he said.
“Several clubs inquired, and I think they were quickly told.”

The England international, who joined United from Leicester City in 2019 for a reported £80 million fee, has faced significant challenges during his time at Old Trafford including losing the captaincy.

However, the 32-year-old appears to be experiencing a resurgence in form under new manager Ruben Amorim.
