In Zamfara State, the All Progressive Congress. APC has expressed disapproval of what it called Governor Dauda Lawal’s constant barrage of remarks regarding the state’s security issues.

In a statement released in Gusau on Thursday, Yusuf Idris, the publicity secretary for the Zamfara State APC, called the governor’s remarks regrettable and inappropriate.

“It is unfortunate for the governor and Chief Security Officer of the state to be saying that he is aware of the movement of every bandit’ kingpin’ and his gang operating in the state.

“Very unfortunately, the governor refused to give an intelligence report to the security agencies fighting the bandits, day and night.

“The APC as a party, we don’t know why the governor continues to overlook the issue of insecurity, giving bandits the chance to continue killing and abducting the innocent citizens,” Idris added.

According to ZINGTIE, Governor Lawal claimed that if given complete control over the security forces, the state’s instability would vanish in two months.

He asserted that he knew where a bandit commander was and that he could use his cell phone to indicate the criminals’ location.

The state APC responded by claiming that the governor had once again shown how his hands were dirty by aiding and harboring the bandits who were threatening the state’s defenseless inhabitants.

Concerns were also raised regarding the governor’s failure to approach the federal government to collaborate with it in the fight against bandits in the state.
