Galatasaray striker, Victor Osimhen, has faced criticism following his involvement in a confrontation with Villarreal defender Santiago Mourino.
The Nigerian forward clashed with Mourino during Galatasaray’s 2-1 pre-season friendly defeat to Villarreal at the weekend.
Osimhen reacted angrily after the Uruguay international used his body to prevent him from moving into a threatening position inside the penalty area at RAMS Park.
Speaking about the incident after the match, Villarreal head coach, Inigo Perez, criticised Osimhen for ‘attacking’ Mourino.
Perez argued that the Galatasaray forward should have received a red card rather than the yellow card shown to him.
”There is not much to say about the football, because the opposing team didn’t come onto the field to play football, but to fight,” Perez said.
”Osimhen attacked our player out of nowhere and only got a yellow card.”
