Rufai Oseni, a host on Arise Television’s Morning Show, has taken aim at Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, over comments made during his recent public address after resuming full gubernatorial duties.

Oseni implied that Governor Fubara had been intimidated into submission and is now masking defeat as peace.

In a post shared on his X account on Saturday, Oseni stated: “Fubara is rejoicing over a false peace peace of the graveyard after being cowed into silence. He now says peace is preferable to conflict. Someone should replay his past statements for him.”

His reaction follows a statewide address delivered by Governor Fubara on Friday, where the governor called on the people of Rivers to reflect on the implications of the six-month emergency intervention imposed by President Bola Tinubu.

The governor stated that “the costliest peace is cheaper than the cheapest war.”

He added that he chose to align with the Federal Government during the crisis and deliberately avoided contesting the constitutional basis of the emergency declaration, prioritizing calm, unity, and development for the state.
