Afrobeats star Oluwatosin Ajibade, popularly known as Mr Eazi, has disclosed that his biggest regret in life is that his late mother never had the opportunity to watch him perform on stage.
The singer made the revelation while speaking during an episode of the Brut Podcast.
Mr Eazi explained that his mother was not fond of travelling, even for relatively short trips such as travelling from Lagos to Accra.
As a result, he said he was unable to take her along to witness his performances in different parts of the world.
Despite this, the singer noted that his mother remained supportive of his career and consistently prayed for him before her death.
“My only regret in life is that my mom never got to watch me perform on stage before she passed away. She was very conservative in her life in general. She didn’t like travelling, not even from Lagos to Accra.
“And the more my career progressed, the more I was travelling across the world to do shows. But she always supported me with prayers,” he said.
He also revealed that his father watched him perform only once, in 2017, several years after he had become a successful artiste.
According to Mr Eazi, his father has remained highly supportive of his music career and regularly calls to congratulate him whenever he releases a new song or project.
ZINGTIE recalls that Mr Eazi’s mother, Pastor (Mrs.) Ifeoma Edith Ajibade, a former banker who later became a pastor, died on March 6, 2025.
