TikTok has stated that users in Nigeria would no longer be able to use its live feature late at night.

Creators have received an in-app notification from the social media platform to let them know.

The warning states that their choice is a component of a continuing safety investigation.

The platform sent users a system message titled “LIVE Notices” on Sunday at midnight Nigerian time.

“TikTok LIVE Update in Nigeria: We’re temporarily limiting LIVE late at night in Nigeria as part of our investigation to ensure our platform remains safe and our community stays protected.”

Between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m., live sessions that had been active earlier in the evening became unavailable, and the impacted accounts showed a “No Access” badge.

Additionally, the restriction made it impossible for authors to watch live broadcasts from other nations.
