The Commissioner of Police, Abia State Command, CP Danladi Isa, verified the story of the killing of a Nigerian Army officer in Aba, noting that efforts are underway to apprehend and prosecute those responsible for “the heinous crime.”

According to reports, the murdered Army officer, Lance Corporal David, was assassinated in Aba on November 21 in a suspected cult-related incident.

The officer was reportedly followed to his family’s home in Aba and killed in front of his parents.

However, in response to inquiries about the subject during his end-of-year media briefing in his office on Friday, Isa stated that he personally visited the region of Aba where the incident occurred as part of the investigation.

“The Police are on it. No culprit will be left unpunished”, the CP said.

He told the Abia populace that his Command had launched a statewide security system to protect lives and property, as well as a technology-based mechanism to trace down suspected offenders.

CP Danladi, who stated that his Command “encountered and decimated some non-state actors at various times,” also cautioned other non-state actors in Abia to embrace peace for their own benefit or face the wrath of the law.
