A lawyer representing the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Ifeanyi Ejiofor, has raised an alarm over alleged threats to his life and the safety of his family.
In a petition dated December 29, 2025, Ejiofor stated that he found it necessary to formally inform the public and the international community of what he described as a deliberate pattern of intimidation and hostile actions directed at him.
The Oraifite-born legal practitioner from Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra State explained that the decision to go public was driven by the growing danger to his personal security and that of his family members.
He noted that his initial alarm prompted numerous phone calls, messages, and expressions of serious concern from concerned citizens across different segments of society.
The human rights advocate further disclosed that, despite the widespread reaction, the threats have not reduced. Instead, he said they have continued and escalated, compelling him to present a detailed factual and historical account to the global audience.
“Recall that I raised a public alarm concerning manifest and credible threats to my life and the safety of my family. That alarm elicited calls, messages, and expressions of deep concern from well-meaning individuals across all strata of society.
“Regrettably, rather than abate, these threats have since persisted and intensified, compelling me to place this factual and historical account before the world.
“It is common knowledge that I am presently at my ancestral home in Oraifite, Anambra State, together with my family, for the Christmas and New Year festivities,” the petition partly read.
