Nigerian singer Ayodeji Balogun, also known as Wizkid, has become the first African artist to reach ten billion Spotify streams.
The Ojuelegba crooner accomplished the landmark when his total number of streams on the site surpassed 10 billion.
His joint hit with Canadian superstar Drake and British vocalist Tyla is his most streamed song on the platform, with around 4 billion views.
With almost a billion Spotify plays, his third studio album, ‘Made In Lagos Deluxe’, is his most streamed release.
Wizkid’s highest streamed song as a lead is ‘Essence’ featuring Tems, which has received over 333 million plays.
Meanwhile, American singer Billie Eilish’s ‘Birds Of A Feather’ has overtaken Tones and I’s ‘Dance Monkey’ as the most streamed solo single by a female artist on Spotify.
‘Birds of a Feather’ recently surpassed ‘Dance Monkey’ with 3.37 billion streams.
