Joe Cole, a former Chelsea midfielder, has asserted that the Premier League title race will conclude if Manchester City loses to Liverpool on Sunday.

Arsenal, who sit atop the table, could extend their lead to nine points if they defeat Sunderland at home on Saturday.

In the past few weeks, City have been unsteady and last weekend relinquished a two-goal advantage to finish 2-2 against Tottenham.

In their last 22 visits to Anfield, Pep Guardiola’s men have managed to secure only one victory.

“It would be the final nail in the coffin,” Cole told Paddy Power.

“This is a huge game. This is one of the first massive title run in games.

“If they don’t win this game, I think I’d be telling everyone it’s Arsenal’s league now!”
