Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has expressed his readiness to collaborate with all members of the state Assembly, including newly elected representatives from the All Progressives Congress (APC).

ZINGTIE reminds that bye-elections for the Rivers Assembly were held on February 21.

The election results saw Ukalikpe Napoleon winning the Ahoada East State Constituency II seat, while Loolo Bulabari Henrietta triumphed in Khana State Constituency II.

Fubara noted that the victories were deserved, emphasizing that they mirrored the confidence and trust placed in the candidates by their constituents.

“It is the beauty of democracy. When the people believe in your capacity, they will give you their votes.

“I look forward to working with them and their colleagues in the Rivers State House of Assembly for the progress of our state,” he said.

Fubara also commended the residents of Ahoada East and Khana constituencies for their peaceful behavior before, during, and after the elections, noting that this process exemplified democratic maturity in the state.

The Rivers Assembly halted the impeachment process against Fubara on February 19, after a lengthy conflict between him and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, who is also the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Due to the political crisis, the state had been under emergency rule for six months.
