The 2027 presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, has strongly criticised President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

Obi made the remarks during an appearance on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics, where he described the administration’s agenda as “failure and renewed hopelessness.”

He said that if elected president, his administration would offer Nigerians what he called genuine and measurable hope.

According to the former Anambra State governor, the policies introduced by the Tinubu administration have failed to restore public confidence or improve the living conditions of ordinary Nigerians.

When asked whether his plan to revive the economy through increased production was similar to the Tinubu government’s Renewed Hope Agenda, Obi dismissed the comparison.

“No, no. That’s renewed hopelessness. It’s not working,” he said.

Obi maintained that Nigerians deserve what he described as authentic hope driven by visible achievements rather than political slogans.

“The kind of hope I’ll bring is real hope — tangible hope that people will see and feel,” he added.
