Israel’s far-right National Security Minister, Itamar Ben Gvir, has openly rejected the recent agreement reached between the United States and Iran aimed at ending hostilities in West Asia and parts of Lebanon.

Ben Gvir made his position known on Monday through a message shared on his Telegram channel, stressing that Israel was not a signatory to the arrangement and therefore not obligated to abide by its terms.

“Trump’s agreement does not bind us; we are not party to this agreement. It does not safeguard our security,” Ben Gvir said.

The minister maintained that Israel’s security interests must remain the priority, insisting that any long-term solution should go beyond temporary understandings.

“We must not settle for anything less than the dismantling of Hezbollah,” he said.

His remarks come shortly after United States President Donald Trump announced that Washington and Tehran had reached an agreement to halt the conflict and facilitate the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.

The preliminary understanding contributed to a decline in global oil prices, although questions surrounding Iran’s nuclear programme are expected to be addressed in separate negotiations.

Meanwhile, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi also confirmed that the memorandum between Tehran and Washington had been concluded.

Speaking during a televised interview, Gharibabadi stated that the agreement had been finalized, marking a significant step in ongoing diplomatic efforts between both countries.
