Political analyst Imran Wakili has alleged that the African Democratic Congress, ADC, and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar may find it difficult to recover from the political consequences he attributed to former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal.
Wakili made the claim in a post shared on his X account on Thursday, where he argued that Lawal’s actions had contributed to the departure of several influential political figures from the ADC, leaving the party considerably weakened.
According to him, the exits of a number of prominent politicians from the party could be traced to the role allegedly played by the former SGF.
“The damage Babachir did to Atiku and ADC—there is no coming back from it! BINDOW is GONE, nobody is left in ADC except Atiku himself.
“Bindow gone, why? Babachir. Abbo gone, why? Babachir. Binani gone, why? Babachir. Nyako gone, why? Babachir. Nafiu Bala legal case, why? Babachir,” Wakili wrote.
ZINGTIE recalls that Babachir Lawal resigned his membership of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, last month.
The former Secretary to the Government of the Federation said he could no longer remain in the party, which he accused of preparing what he described as a “rigging machine” ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Lawal also accused Atiku Abubakar and some of his associates of advancing ethnic and religious interests.
He further argued that the emergence of the former vice president as a presidential candidate could ultimately improve President Bola Tinubu’s chances of securing re-election in 2027.
