The governor of Benue State, Hyacinth Alia, has issued an order suspending the delegates congress for the state’s byelection to the Guma State Constituency.

At a news conference on Saturday at the Government House, Makurdi’s Old Banquet Hall, Governor Alia issued the directive.

He claimed that because unknown individuals showed up at the location to sabotage the exercise, it was riddled with anomalies.

Governor Alia ordered the congress to be suspended because he believed that the area’s young had grown emotionally unstable and that this could result in a collapse of law and order.

He claimed that although Guma LGA had been a hotbed of violence in the state, calm was now returning there and that the congress needed to be suspended in order to prevent chaos from spreading.

According to Governor Alia, it is his duty to uphold the state’s peace since the congress must be suspended because it is causing a great deal of stress in the region.

In order to prevent a security breach, he gave the state’s security services instructions to uphold law and order.

Governor Ália pledged that the party’s national leadership would make every effort to keep the party peaceful.
