Premium motor spirit, PMS, produced by Dangote Refinery is currently cheaper than imported petrol, according to the latest pricing data.
The figures are contained in the most recent gantry and ex-depot petrol price templates released by Dangote Refinery and the Major Energies Marketers Association of Nigeria, MEMAN.
The latest template places the price of petrol from Dangote Refinery at N1,165 per litre, compared with N1,218.54 per litre for imported petrol.
Based on the figures, locally refined petrol from the Dangote facility is N53.54 per litre, representing a 4.39 percent price advantage over imported PMS.
The reduction in petrol prices recorded by Dangote Refinery and other depot operators has contributed to a decline in pump prices across the country over the past two weeks.
Petrol retailers in Abuja and surrounding areas have subsequently adjusted their pump prices, with motorists currently paying between N1,210 and N1,300 per litre.
