Nigerian TikToker Nsikak Abigail, popularly known as Mirabel, has returned to social media months after she was taken into custody and placed under rehabilitation by the Ogun State Government.
The influencer resurfaced on Saturday with four TikTok posts, marking her first appearance online since February, when her controversial rape allegation generated widespread attention.
In one of the posts, she wrote, “I survived, so I’m awaiting your hate comments.”
She also appeared to acknowledge that she was still dealing with the aftermath of the ordeal, stating, “Out of therapy but not healed.”
In another post, Mirabel appeared to criticise the rehabilitation process, writing, “Made peace with my mental health since rehab couldn’t help. Hi y’all.”
Her fourth post stated, “We all make mistakes, but not a bisexual
Mirabel’s return comes months after she reported herself at Ogijo Police Station in Sagamu, where she alleged that she had been raped on February 15, 2026, after opening her door to a “neighbour.”
The allegation quickly spread across social media and triggered widespread outrage, but subsequent police investigations reportedly found no evidence supporting her claim.
In June, the Ogun State Ministry of Justice, through the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Oluwasina Ogungbade, SAN, announced that investigations had established that the allegation was false and deliberately fabricated.
The ministry said findings from investigations, including admissions reportedly made by Mirabel, showed that no rape had occurred as initially alleged.
“The investigations by relevant authorities, as well as Mirabel’s own admissions, established that the rape allegation was false and deliberately fabricated,” the statement said.
The ministry explained that because no offence had occurred, there was no suspect to arrest or prosecute and no threat to public safety arising from the allegation.
Rather than prosecuting Mirabel, the Ogun State Government said it opted to place her under rehabilitation.
According to the government, she was placed under the care of the Ogun State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, where she received rehabilitative support.
Her latest return to social media suggests that Mirabel continues to struggle with mental health challenges.
Her comeback has since sparked renewed reactions online, with some users demanding refunds for money donated to her during the controversy.
Others have argued that she deserves an opportunity to rebuild her life, while another section of the public believes she should be held accountable for the resources expended on the matter and the impact of the false allegation on genuine victims of sexual assault.
