Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, has agreed to a new contract with the Premier League club.

The 44-year-old’s previous deal was set to run out next summer.

Arteta, who took charge of Arsenal in 2019, has now extended his commitment to the club until June 2030.

The Spanish coach guided Arsenal to their first Premier League title in 22 years last season after finishing as runners-up in three consecutive campaigns.

He also took the Gunners to just their second Champions League final, where they suffered a penalty-shootout defeat to Paris Saint-Germain.

Since taking over at Arsenal, Arteta has also won the FA Cup and three Community Shields.

“It’s a privilege to commit my future to the club and to continue to work with exceptional people who want the best for Arsenal,” Arteta said in a statement.

“This club is unique, its character and the way it makes you feel, and I have a great sense of privilege that our journey together will continue.”
