Benin national team defender, Mohamed Tijani, has disclosed what he intends to tell Argentina captain Lionel Messi when both sides meet in an international friendly today.

Argentina are scheduled to face Benin at the Estadio Mâs Monumental in Buenos Aires, with the encounter expected to mark Messi’s final international appearance for the country.

Messi had previously announced his decision to retire from the Argentina national team.

Ahead of the highly anticipated meeting, Tijani said he would tell Messi that he is a ‘god’ in football.

According to Argentine media outlet MinutoUno, Tijani, who spoke during an interview with C5N, said, “There is no need to specifically mark Messi. We just need to enjoy the game.

“I will look at him and say, ‘Messi, you are God.’ He is the best player in the world.”
