Abuja lady in trouble for allegedly threatening to kill lover over condom

On Friday, a woman named Chioma Nnabuike was charged with threatening to kill her partner in a Senior Magistrates’ Court in Gwagwalada, Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Nnabuike, a resident of Gwagwalada’s Old Kutunku, is accused of damage, trespassing, and criminal intimidation.

The prosecution, Abdulahi Tanko, claims that Mr. Nnaji Emmanuel, who lives at the same house as the defendant, alerted the police to the matter. On April 8, the Gwagwalada Police Station received a formal complaint of the event.

Tanko informed the court that the defendant reportedly threatened to murder Emmanuel if she found a condom in his presence again after contacting the Igbo chief on February 18.

He added that if Emmanuel didn’t agree to marry her, Nnabuike threatened to cripple him.

Additionally, according to the prosecution, the defendant broke into Emmanuel’s room and took some of his possessions without getting his permission. According to reports, the objects were found as the police were conducting their investigation.

According to Tanko, the accused offenses violate Penal Code Sections 396, 342, and 326.

Nnabuike entered a not guilty plea to the accusations.

Senior Magistrate Munir Sani, who presided over the case, granted N500,000 bail.

The court mandated that the surety must be a pastor who lives within its jurisdiction and present official identification, such as a driver’s license or National Identity Card, as well as records attesting to his pastoral standing.

The hearing on the subject was postponed until July 29.
