Our reporter states that Salim, hailing from Mombasa, recounted a heart-rending story of injustice. He was sentenced to life in prison after being falsely accused of violent robbery by envious colleagues.

Salim remained resolute in the face of his severe sentencing, finishing his secondary education while in prison. He was released after two decades due to an appeal, as the robbery did not result in injuries or property damage.

However, freedom had a high cost. Upon returning home, Salim discovered that his parents had died, his wife had remarried, and his land had been sold by an uncle who was now deceased.

Having no income and limited choices, he depends on his brother’s generosity and begs for work to start afresh. His tale serves as a vivid reminder of the toll on human lives that results from erroneous convictions.
