After we captured the real leader of Boko Haram, I was retired, arrested and detained – Major General Danjuma Ali-Keffi Revealed

After his squad apprehended the true head of Boko Haram and detained terrorism financiers, Major General Danjuma Ali-Keffi disclosed that he was disciplined by the Nigerian government.

“There was an operation which I led, the operation servicewide — the counterterrorism — to arrest those terrorism financiers,” he said.

“I was the commander of that. I reported straight to the dist ance.”

According to Ali-Keffi, the expedition was effective in identifying Boko Haram’s true leader.

“As a matter of fact, the leader of Boko Haram… the real leader, we captured. And incidentally or ironically, he’s not even a Nigerian. But he claimed he’s been in Nigeria for some ti me. But he’s not a Nigerian,” he said.

However, Ali-Keffi claimed he was penalized rather than congratulated.

“Then, in September, October, thereabout… I was invited for interview at the military police headquarters. I turned up there on the 18t h and I was arrested myself and detained in the cell.”

When asked why he was arrested, he replied: “I don’t know, when I reported there, the interrogators said I was removed as a General Officer Commanding on the 8th of August 2021. I handed over on the 10t h… and 21 days later I was arrested.”

He claimed that upon his dismissal, he notified the president.

“When I was removed, I reported straight to the presidency… and they said, ‘Do not report, that the y were going to address it.”

According to Ali-Keffi, the operation had apprehended important individuals.

“We picked those people… including the leader of the BAR, including five of the key guys I was invited… and I was arrested. So I didn’t know it w as a set up.”
